Appreciate the encouraging words, David. I'll relax a bit but please speak up if I slack off too much.

Don't punish yourself or us, your readers Emory. It's one thing to set higher standards but I think yours was set high initially. Go with the flow, speak your mind and let me.....er us, be the judge of extraordinary content!

I appreciate your point, ashok. Even though this is a "SEO Blog," the posts I enjoy writing the most are the ones that evoke feeling and passion. This year, I hope to develop a voice that inspires readers.

My own thought is that the best content is heartfelt. I read blogs not just to get tips or learn a few things I'd figure out anyway, but to hear another person's voice tell me what's important and why.

We haven't really distinguished between blogs that have a readership vs. blogs that have people search them or check in for particular things, but it's an important distinction. You absolutely want the former, so that way one is not dependent on search traffic forever.

Barry, I hope I can remain strong enough to stick to this all year, but honestly, I am feeling a little week and the need to say something trite already.

That's an excellent resolve, Emory. I guess it comes with a similar sentiment to 'If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.' Now if we all adopted your resolution as an absolute rule, I think we would find it got very quiet all of a sudden. :)
