HostGator Stimulus Plan
You’ve seen the SEO Bailout; now check out the HostGator Stimulus Plan ad:

I thought this HostGator Google AdSense ad making fun of the recent U.S. government stimulus plan was an entertaining way of communicating the company’s desire to win customers through their low cost web hosting plans. I think this HostGator ad is more attractive than the previous Hostgator advertisement I spotted and fitting for this age where spending the funds of others is considered “bold.”
“See how we aren’t waiting for congress to save you money”

It is a neat ad. But convincing people to come online is only to work if people really see opportunity here. Truth be told, I’m not sure that many are able to see how this works exactly.
Heck, I’m still learning, I ain’t smart about this yet. Which reminds me – I need to ask you how to put together a strategy when commenting and stuff.

Yeah, I was wondering what their clickthrus and conversions would have been with this approach vs. a more standard ad. Sure, just hit me up, any time.

I like this ad. Simple yet engaging normally works best and this has all the hallmarks of that.

It’s quite cool and will definitely draw some interest out of curiosity. Even here in Australia I’ve noticed a couple of TV ads using the stimulus package (yes, our government is running them too) to advertise their products. Bit of a punt but would be interesting to know how it turns out for them.
