Affiliate Link Cloaker Tool
I’m really excited about this new affiliate link cloaker tool because I haven’t found a tool that actually allows you to cloak an affiliate link while adding the Google nofollow attribute. So, this should be a quicker alternative to hand coding your affiliate links. I’ve tested this new link cloaker tool in both IE and Firefox with no probs. I consider the tool to be in beta, so if you find any bugs or ways to improve, please post.
Update: As simple as it is, this affiliate link cloaker tool, seems to have been received well by affiliates and bloggers. I just noticed that it was mentioned in the November 2007 issue of the 1&1 Affiliate ENews Newsletter.

Hi Emory,
This is such a good tool to have. I love to have it at my site if you permit that.

Humble, that is an interesting question you bring up. I think a mouse down would be nice enhancement. If anyone knows how to do this, I would sure love to know.

When i view the affliate link on my Mozilla Firefox browser, the affiliate links is still showing clearly on the bottom toolbar below. Maybe the browser has gotten more intelligent nowadays.
Or maybe it works well only on IE explorer only, i dont know.

Jimmy Lee and Deano, I am seeing that as well with the current versions of Firefox and Safari. I’ll have to look into a remedy for this. Thanks for pointing it out.

I must be living in an alternate universe or something. When I click on the code resulting from this tool, it brings up the target site, but with my affiliate code at the end of the URL.
That is the same result I get when using the uncloaked link in the first place. BTW, I’m using Firefox, latest version. Thanks.

Mitchell, That’s normal. The tool cloaks whatever appears in the status bar (not sure about FF anymore). It doesn’t affect what appears in the address bar.

This tool is fantastic Emory!
I had been using it for a while and it must be one of the best free tools out there, Although I’ve now bought Cloak N Rotate and I must say it’s well worth the money.
Simply because it’s super easy to use and you don’t have to keep uploading and downloading files constantly to create new or change links, perfect for a newbie like me who hates messing around with code.
It also does full address cloaking and can test different affiliate offers which I love.
You should check it out, maybe offer it to visitors that want to pay a little bit for something better (I think it has an affiliate program)
Cheers, Phil

I cannot get this to work. When I cut and paste the code to my squidoo lens, the affiliate links still appears.I am using Firefox. Any ideas? Thanks

Yeah, Jimmy. Lee pointed out above that the more intelligent browsers like the recent FireFox are able to defeat cloaking in the status bar.

What a great little cloaking application. I haven’t been using one, but this one time I was looking for something quick and easy to use online and came across this. Thanks.

I am so glad that I found this tool! I’ve been desperately working day and night. Even though I have had traffic, I have yet to make my first $1.00 – sadly I think people take out the affiliate link so you don’t get paid! Since its something I would never do, it just never occured to me.
In addition, did you know that tiny url is banned from tons of ISP’s so those emails probably never got through :(
Thanks so much for this!!!

Fantastic tool. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Great work!!

Can you use this for images like banners ads and such. What would the HTML Code be using image with this code? Thanks
October 26th, 2010 at 2:50 pm
Yeah, great question. I hand edit the code for images by replacing the anchor text from the “Affiliate Link Text” field with an image. Maybe I should expand it to inlcude images.

That would be well great! I ask this question because I am starting to monetize my web site now using affiliate links and images. Let me know when you have done would be great..no pressure of course! LOL
